The Annual Sow & Grow Seed Swap event organised by Transition Town Worthing  took  place at Oak Grove College on Saturday 6th February.

The event was opened and closed by Worthing Town Crier, Bob Smytherman. There were Seeds & plants to exchange & buy, and a wide variety of sow, grow and community stands. There were talks given on Storage & Propagation (Paul Eustice, Worthing Allotments); Highdown Gardens (Jo Hooper, Head Gardener); Natural Pest Control (Steve Millam, Chichester College) as well as performances by the South Downs Folk Singers.

The Wild About Worthing Project (Sussex Wildlife Trust) prepared an area of land for a wildflower meadow and attending children made wildflower Seed Bombs which were launched into the prepared ground.

Oak Grove College students cooked and served food at the event, and there were tours of the grounds.

The E.Y.E. Project stand invited attending children to make plant pots out of newspaper, and either sow seeds that they had obtained from the other stalls, or chick peas from our stall.
