The Polli:Nation project which is a Heritage Lottery project aimed at engaging schools in the needs of pollinating butterflies, bees and moths, have been successful in securing funds for schools to make changes to their school grounds, to help these groups. This funding is now available to schools.
Applications are now OPEN for primary and secondary schools. This round of applications is open until 21st September. There are also opportunities to attend a web seminar (webinar) during the week commencing 28th September.
They are now welcoming applications from primary and secondary schools to take part and apply for support, as part of the Polli:Nation project, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. For more information about the project please visit http://www.ltl.org.uk/pollination

“If you successfully apply to become a Polli:Nation school, you will receive:
· A grant of up to £4000 to help you transform your school grounds to become a haven for pollinating insects;
· Expert support from LTL’s professional network to help transform the grounds, and transform the learning;
· A wealth of free materials such as wildflower seeds;
· Participation in and resources from a UK wide social science experiment developed for Polli:Nation by scientists at OPAL, with support from leading experts in the ecology and conservation sector.”
