2016 - 9th Worthing & Adur Eco-summit. Weald & Downland Open Air Museum workshop - Sustainable Everyday Life

Tue 21 Jun 2016

During this workshop pupils disccsed our lifestyles today compared to different points in history. ‘Sustainability’ is a word of the moment but what does it mean to us today and how were people’s lives sustainable in the past? As a museum with everyday homes the workshop considered the elements of life that we all know: how people kept warm, what they ate and where was it grown, how people cooked this food and what sources of fuel were used. Pupils explored this through objects from the Weald & Downland collection which they examined and assessed.
